What a fantastic night!
People had been coming in all afternoon excited that Andrew and Susan were going to talk about how they created The Roxy. Shaggaramas (this is how you spell it) and early beginnings of the venue were discussed and who played the club whilst they managed it. Some great stories were listened to by myself and an enthralled audience.
A lot of old friends turned up to see them too which all made for a great and informative evening. Lots of good questions from the floor afterwards as well! A highlight of the night was when audience Rowland Evans revealed he had brought with him some original mosaic and the door numbers from the club, skilfully removed once it had been shut down and had gone forever… As a curator, I love stuff like that!
Massive thanks to Susan and Andrew for giving us all a wonderful evening – and to everyone who came along.
